Know who's quietly slipping, before it becomes a cashflow problem
A customer who has always paid in 30 days rarely announces that they are moving to 60. They just start paying a little later each month while continuing to order as normal. By the time it is obvious, the drift has been happening for months. CFO Pal reads your own invoice history to catch that shift while it is still small enough to raise in a normal conversation.
Drift, not just a snapshot
CFO Pal compares each customer's last three complete months of payments against the three before that, both the plain average and the value-weighted one, so a single large slow invoice isn't averaged away by a dozen small prompt ones. A customer only gets flagged once they are genuinely past due on average: paying 20 days early and now paying on time is a 20-day drift and nobody's problem.
Catches the customer who's gone quiet
A customer who paid you reliably and has paid nothing in the last three months, with real money still overdue, doesn't show up in a simple who's-slower comparison. There is no recent average to compare. CFO Pal flags this separately, because it is a phone call, not a terms conversation.
Tells you if it's one customer or your whole book
If every customer has slowed by roughly the same amount, that is a market shift or a collections process that has stopped working, not a debtor to chase. CFO Pal states which one you are looking at, so you do not blame an individual customer for a change that isn't theirs.
Not a credit check
This reads your own trading history with customers you already invoice. It is not a substitute for a credit agency, CCJ search, or payment score when deciding whether to extend credit to someone new.
The problem with gut feel
Most business owners notice a slow payer only once cash is already tight, and by then, it is rarely just one customer. A handful of accounts have usually drifted together, quietly, over two or three months, and nobody was tracking the trend because nobody had the time to recalculate everyone's payment history by hand every month.
How you use it
Ask "Ask Your CFO" (the chat sidebar in your dashboard, or WhatsApp) who is paying slower, or who has stopped paying altogether, and CFO Pal answers from your real ledger: the invoices, the dates, and the money outstanding, every time.
