What the alternatives cost
CFO Pal doesn't replace judgement in a room. It replaces going without any financial oversight at all, which is what most businesses this size actually do.
| Option | Typical cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Doing it yourself in a spreadsheet | Free, plus your evenings | Out of date the moment you close it |
| Part-time bookkeeper | £300 to £800 a month | Records the past. Won't forecast or warn you |
| Accountant producing management accounts | £200 to £500 a month | Monthly at best, usually weeks in arrears |
| Fractional finance director | £1,000 to £2,000 a month | Real judgement, a day or two a month |
| Full-time CFO | £150,000+ a year | Everything, if you can afford it |
| CFO Pal | £199/month + VAT | Weekly analysis, forecasting and alerts, every week |
Costs for bookkeepers, accountants and fractional FDs are typical UK market ranges and vary by region, sector and scope.

See the practice programmeFrequently asked questions
Do I need a card to start the free trial?
No. You get full access for 14 days without entering any payment details, and we'll remind you before it ends. There's no card on file to charge if you do nothing.
Is it really one price?
Yes. £199/month + VAT covers every feature, every report and unlimited users on your business. There are no modules to add, no per-seat charges and no usage limits on the AI.
Can I pay annually?
Yes, £1,990 a year + VAT, which works out at £165.83 a month and saves you £398 against paying monthly.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your account settings whenever you like: no notice period, no cancellation fee, no phone call. Your data is retained for 30 days afterwards in case you come back, then deleted.
What if I run more than one business?
Each business is a separate subscription, and you switch between them from one login. Your first business is £199 per month + VAT; each additional business you add is £99 per month + VAT (or £990 a year), with no second free trial. The price is fixed when each subscription starts and never changes afterwards — cancelling one business does not reprice the others. Accountants and bookkeepers running several client businesses should look at the practice programme instead.
What accounting software do you support?
Xero, QuickBooks Online and Sage Accounting. Connect in two clicks and your data syncs automatically twice a day. You can also enter data manually or upload CSV and Excel files.
Is my financial data secure?
All data is stored in the UK (London) and is UK GDPR compliant. Row-level security isolates every business, integration tokens are encrypted at rest, and we only ever read from your accounting platform: we do not modify your books or move money.
How is this different from the reports in my accounting software?
Xero, QuickBooks and Sage record what happened. CFO Pal tells you what it means, and does it without you logging in. The interpretation, the forecasting with scenarios, the proactive alerts and the management accounts pack don't exist in standard accounting software.
