Compare your numbers to real UK businesses, not a guess
Most "industry benchmark" figures online are unsourced averages nobody can trace. CFO Pal uses two things instead: published UK statistics with a named source, year and who they actually describe, and the real filed accounts of your Companies House peer group, the businesses genuinely in your sector, not an invented average.
Real peer quartiles, from filed accounts
Net assets, cash, creditors due within a year and current ratio, compared against the quartiles of every company in your sector that has filed accounts: lower quartile, median, upper quartile, all computed from real Companies House filings, not survey data.
Published figures with a named source
Debtor days, creditor days and staff costs as a share of turnover, each carrying the actual source, the year it's from and exactly which businesses it describes, so you can check it yourself rather than take our word for it.
Suppressed rather than misleading on a small sample
A peer comparison only appears once at least 50 companies in that group have filed comparable figures. A handful of companies isn't a quartile. It's noise dressed up as one.
Nothing invented where nothing honest exists
There is no official UK source for gross or net margin by industry, so CFO Pal doesn't show one, not an estimate, not a "typical range." If the honest figure doesn't exist, you see nothing rather than a number that looks precise and isn't.
Why most industry benchmarks can't be trusted
A number without a source, a year, or a stated population is unfalsifiable. You can't check whether it still applies to your size of business, your part of the sector, or even the current year. CFO Pal states all three every time, and simply omits a metric rather than publish a figure it can't stand behind.
